Why we curated this watch
DOXA, a company established in 1889, has a long history in watchmaking and is widely known for producing excellent dive watches. In March 2026, the brand introduced the SUB 200 II - its latest addition to the iconic SUB series, marking a confident evolution of one of its most accessible and versatile models.
The SUB 200 II introduces a gradient fumé dial - marking the first of its kind within the SUB series. Its most striking feature is the vibrant blue dial, where the dial colour transitions from a lighter centre to a deeper shade towards the edge. The large, contrasting hour markers ensure clear legibility - an essential trait for any functional dive watch. A date window sits neatly at 3 o’clock, covered by a colour-matched frame that blends seamlessly into the dial. The unidirectional bezel echoes the dial’s colour palette, while the discreet “Swiss Made” text around the 6 o’clock adds a quiet finishing touch. Altogether, the watch blends a retro‑inspired character with a clean and modern execution.
The case is crafted from high-grade 316L stainless steel, measuring 44mm in diameter but refined to a slimmer 12.8mm profile. Though the case diameter of 44mm is relative large, the short lugs will help to maintain a balanced wrist presence and wearing comfort. Inside, the watch is powered by the reliable Sellita SW200 movement offering automatic as well as self-winding capability, a 38-hour power reserve and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. As expected from a dive watch, the Sub 200 II delivers 200 metres of water resistance and features a screw-down crown for added durability.
The collection is available in a range of fumé dial colours, including Redcoral, Sharkhunter Vintage (grey), Sharkhunter (black), Caribbean (blue) and Sea Emerald (green). While the other variants retain a classic stainless steel case, the Redcoral edition stands apart with a black DLC-coated finish. Paired with its bold red dial, the darker case lends the watch a more assertive and tougher presence. Beyond aesthetics, the DLC coating enhances scratch resistance, making this variant not only visually striking but also more resilient. Buyers can choose between a stainless steel mesh bracelet or a colour-matched rubber strap, both complementing the watch’s overall aesthetic in their own ways.
Who is this watch for?
The SUB 200 II is ideal for anyone looking for a dive watch from a brand with genuine heritage and expertise. It offers the appeal of Swiss-made quality, a proven automatic movement and a visually appealing design language at a relatively accessible price point. Priced at at €1,590 for the rubber strap variant and €1,650 for the mesh bracelet variant, the SUB 200 II serves as an excellent entry into the world of DOXA.
