I’m a software engineering team lead and watch enthusiast working and living in the Netherlands. I’ve loved watches for as long as I can remember. That interest eventually led me to the fascinating world of independent and microbrand watchmaking, and I haven’t stopped exploring it since.
You’ll often find me lurking around watch magazines and forums, or attending watch fairs whenever I get the chance

I’m an engineer, musician, author, and of course, a watch enthusiast based in Paris. I developed a love for horology at an early age by admiring my father’s moonphase watches. As a lover of both art and science, I find in watchmaking the perfect harmony between technical precision and artistic expression. This vision naturally draws me to the world of independent brands. Driven by a constant search for creativity and distinctive pieces, I love discovering and sharing the creations of those who shape the future of watchmaking with true dedication and independence.

I’m a university lecturer in Japan where I’ve lived for over 20 years including one wild year teaching in Beijing. One of the benefits of living in the region is its proximity to Southeast Asia. I take regular trips to Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia. I have an affinity for microbrands, chronographs, MOP and stone dials. When I’m not teaching, I’m researching reference numbers, tracking online auctions, and embarking on watch hunts—scouring everything from dusty local shops to sprawling mega-markets across Asia for second-hand gems and new timepieces alike.
