Why we curated this watch

More on this watch

Ocean to Orbit is a young independent watch brand based in Melbourne, Australia, founded by two car designers with a deep appreciation for timepieces and purposeful design. From the very beginning, they decided that every watch they create would carry a story - an ethos inspired by the watches worn by great explorers of the past. It was only natural, then, that their first release would be an everyday tool watch, drawing cues from these historic timepieces built for adventure and reliability. With a vision to craft purpose-built watches that resonate with enthusiasts worldwide, Ocean to Orbit blends narrative depth with design discipline - a reflection of its founders’ backgrounds in design, where every detail serves a clear function.

The watch takes its name from Lhotse, the fourth highest mountain on Earth. The Lohtse - Mission Green features a vertically brushed rich green dial with applied indices that adds depth to its aesthetics. The dial is housed in a 316L stainless steel case that measures 38.5 mm in diameter and 11.5 mm thickness. A screw-down crown reinforces the sense of durability appropriate for an everyday sports watch.

At its heart, the watch is powered by a Swiss-made STP 1-21 automatic movement with a self-winding mechanism, a 28,800 vph frequency, hacking seconds and manual winding. The movement uses 26 jewels, runs without a date function, delivering hours, minutes and a sweep second hand with approximately 40 hours of power reserve.

The Lhotse collection from Ocean to Orbit is also offered in black and blue dial colours, each bringing its own visual character while maintaining the same clean design language. These variants can be paired with a range of strap options, from rugged adventure-style nylon strap and to a fully articulating 316L stainless-steel bracelet, giving wearers flexibility in both colour and strap type to suit personal taste and use.
